FAQ about Virtual Consults

What technology do I require?

A mobile smartphone, laptop, tablet or desktop with a microphone and camera + internet access

What software do I need?

We will send you an email with a link to our world-class Physitrack exercise rehabilitation software. This is the platform we will use for your video consultation.

What can you treat?

Common conditions we see via virtual consults are:

  • Back Pain
  • Neck and Jaw Pain
  • Headaches
  • Upper & Lower Limb Joint Pain
  • Sports Injuries
  • Tendon or Ligaments complaints

What can I expect during the consult?

Your virtual appointment will run very similarly to an in-clinic appointment. Your osteopath will note down a history of your injury or condition. Once we work out a diagnosis, we will provide strategies to manage your condition.  We will then run through movements and exercises that will not only provide relief but help solve it.

  • Movement assessments
  • Customised exercise programs
  • Trusted advice

Will I get anything at the end of the session?

Of course! We will email you a copy of your rehabilitation program (if required) as well as give you a summary of your diagnosis and our recommendations for managing your condition.

What do I wear?

We may ask you to perform movements and activities during your assessment, so loose fitting clothing is the ideal attire to wear during your consult. When we prescribe exercises, we want you to be able to easily perform them.

How long will my session go for?

If you are new to our clinic or simply new to telehealth we recommend a 30 minute extended consult.

If you are following up on a previous virtual consult, then 15 minutes should do the trick.

How many sessions will I require?

Unfortunately this is a difficult question to answer without knowing your specific injury details, work, hobbies, family requirements etc. We will endeavour to give you this information to the best of our ability in your initial consultation.

Generally, the longer a problem has been there, the longer it will take to overcome. Other factors such as management compliance, problem chronicity and consult frequency will all alter your outcome and overall number of treatments required.

Do I need a referral?

No, you do not need a referral as we are primary health care practitioners.

Can I claim the consult through my Private Health Insurance or other third party?

At this stage, rebates are not available for Telehealth consultations via PHI, Medicare, WorkCover, TAC or DVA. This is rapidly changing so we do suggest you contact your insurer or case manager to find out. At last check, many were reviewing their current policies.
